Atlas

Every model carries the name of a place. A racing circuit, a county, a port. This is the map of those places — and of what was made under each one.

Scroll

Places

Every name here is somewhere you could go.

The place first

SOMERSET is a county in the south-west of England, and for a moment that's all it is. Then it turns out to be a wool jacket. The rest reads the same way: SALAMANCA, MUSCAT, MONACO — the place first, the piece after.

Cuts come back

You go back to a place you liked, and cuts have the same habit. SOMERSET in tweed and SOMERSET in herringbone are one jacket shown twice. MALI does it too, plain and then in latte.

Two names, one cloth

A set is two pieces cut from one bolt of cloth and made as a pair. Two names then, and one cloth between them: BELGRAVE and KENSINGTON, MUSCAT and MARRAKESH, FEZ and FINAN.

Traces in the archive

Some models once carried a different name. A new name doesn't void the old link — if someone saved it, it still works.
